Two-Car Garage Cleanout in Belleview

Got a text from a homeowner in Belleview with photos of a two-car garage that hadn’t seen a car in probably fifteen years. Wall-to-wall stuff. Old bicycles, broken furniture, bins of Christmas decorations, a couple of window AC units, bags of old clothes, and about a hundred other things crammed in there.

We got there at 7:30 in the morning and started pulling everything out onto the driveway. Made three piles — keep, donate, and haul. The homeowner was surprised how much was actually worth donating. A working dehumidifier, a solid wood bookshelf, some hand tools, and a few boxes of kitchen items all went to a local donation center in Ocala.

The rest filled up the truck. Old particle board furniture that was warped and peeling, a rusted-out grill, bags of mildewed clothes, broken plastic storage bins — the usual garage graveyard stuff. It’s the kind of full cleanout where you don’t realize how much is in there until you start pulling it out.

Had the whole thing cleared, swept, and done by early afternoon. Homeowner pulled her car into the garage for the first time in years. Said it felt like moving into a new house. She also mentioned some of the stuff in there had belonged to her late mother — if she’d called us sooner we could’ve appraised some of those items before the cleanout.
