Homeowner in Beverly Hills had an above-ground pool that had seen better days. Liner was cracked, the pump was shot, and the metal walls were rusting through at the bottom. It had been sitting empty for about a year and was just taking up yard space.

First step was draining the couple inches of rainwater that had collected. Then we started on the frame — disconnected the pump and filter housing, pulled the top rails and uprights, and peeled the liner out. The liner came out in one piece which made things easier. Pool removals are more straightforward than people think — no heavy equipment needed for above-ground models. Just tools and muscle.

The metal sidewall was the big part. We scored it with a grinder and cut it into sections small enough to stack flat in the truck bed. Rolled up the ground tarp underneath, pulled the support posts, and raked the sand base level.

Total time on-site was about three hours. Loaded everything — metal panels, liner, pump, filter, hoses, rails, hardware — and hauled it off. The area underneath the pool had a bunch of dead grass and debris that needed clearing too, so we raked all of that up and tossed it in the truck. Homeowner was already talking about putting a fire pit where the pool used to be.
